for the 150th Anniversary of the Foundation of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies

Tokyo University of Foreign Studies has launched the 150th Anniversary Fund with the goal of raising 1 billion yen in order to bolster the three key priorities of becoming a global leader, strengthening international research and enriching the education and research environment. The university seeks to develop into a unique global hub for education and research in humanities and social sciences and we see the studies of languages and cultures around the world as our foundation.

  • 2)  By enhancing the capabilities of the TUFS Library
  • 3)  By improving the extracurricular activity facilities and the TUFS Alumni Lounge

How to Make a Contribution

(1) Making a Contribution from Overseas

The most convenient way to make a contribution from overseas is via your credit card using the TUFS 150th Anniversary Fund website given here:

(2) Designating Your Contribution

Donors may designate their contribution for a specific purpose. In the case of donating for scholarships and endowed professorships, the scholarship or professorship may be named after the donor. The criteria for the scholarship and professorship may also be designated.

The Doctoral program offers two areas of specializations:

School of International and Area Studies

The School has three specialized courses:

  • 1) Area Studies
  • 2) Contemporary Global Studies
  • 3) International Relations

Students select a major from 14 areas of the world:
Northwest Europe, North America, Oceania, Central Europe, Southwest Europe, Latin America, Russia, Central Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia / North Africa, Africa, Japan
